What Are the Main Attractions of Kailash Mansarovar Yatra Package?
Mount Kailash
Mount Kailash, also known as Him sikhar (Him meaning snow and Sikhar meaning mountain), is a popular tourist destination for devotees of Buddhism, Hinduism, Jains, and Bon. This sacred mountain is located at an elevation of almost 6,000 meters above sea level. Every year, millions of religious enthusiasts finish the base by doing kora. Additionally, it provides a stunning vertical rock face and ice on the northern side of Kailash.
Mansarovar Lake
The significance of Mansarovar Lake is deeply spiritual. Located at a height of 4550 meters, this freshwater lake is among the highest in the world. Hindu myth holds that Brahma created the lake, and that bathing in the lake and drinking its water may pay for all sins. Buddhism holds that Anavatapta is the place where Maya bathed before to the birth of Lord Buddha. On its shoreline are monasteries that provide breathtaking views of Mount Kailash.
Dirapuk Monastry
One of the most spiritually attractive locations on the Kailash Parvat Yatra is the Dirapuk Monastery, from where visitors may get the best view of Mount Kailash's north face. Here is thought to have been the mediation site of Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava), whose mark is still visible in a rock. Buddhist paintings—are kept in the monastery. In addition to the benefits mentioned above, staying here gives hikers the opportunity to acclimate. When the sun sets on the northern side, Yatri has the incredible opportunity to observe the golden Parbat.
Tarboche and Yama Dwar
The Gate of the Lord of Death, or Yama Dwar, is situated close to Tarboche. It is symbolized by a little chorten, or Buddhist wayside shrine, that pilgrims must pass through in order to access Kailash's hallowed territory. Tarboche, a short drive from Darchen, is the starting point of the Kailash Kora trek and is well-known for its massive prayer flagpole. The pole is lowered and then raised again during Saga Dawa, the fourth month in the Tibetan calendar. Blessings are frequently collected here in anticipation of the strenuous circumambulation that lies ahead. Here is where you'll get one of the best views down the valley and south towards the southern face of Mount Kailash.
Kailash Glacier
Three of Asia's holiest rivers, the Sutlej, the Brahmaputra, and the Indus, receive their water from glaciers rising to 5,200 and 5,700 meters correspondingly. In a high-altitude wilderness area, we'll see animals like wild yak and chiru, the Tibetan antelope. Although they are not included in the traditional kora, Mount Kailash's glaciers are nonetheless a powerful and impressive sight.
